Caroline Paterson, CPA, CGA – Partner
Caroline obtained her CGA designation in 2005 and has over 25 years in the accounting field. She enjoys assisting business owners/managers and individuals with their tax planning. She also assists not-for-profits and charities with start-up, reporting and other organizational requirements. Her experience is diverse and includes working with corporations with SRED claims, complex investment portfolios as well as many small business owners who need help with tax and estate planning. Caroline was a partner at her previous firm in Sidney and she continues to assist both existing and new clients. She is proud to be involved in the local community and is the treasurer for the ORCCA Dental Clinic Society.
Sheila Henn, CPA, CA – Partner
Sheila has a diverse background which includes working with not-for-profit and small public sector audits and reviews, as well as working with small business owners. Sheila has her audit license and enjoys working on audits and review engagements for companies, associations, Improvement Districts and other not-for-profits. She oversees the U.S. tax practice, as well as preparing and reviewing all levels of Canadian and U.S. personal tax returns. This includes Estate tax for Canadian estates.
Keeping up-to-date (for Canada and US tax) as well as financial reporting changes for not-for-profits and Public Sector financial statements is important to her. She received her CA designation in 2012 which is built on many years of experience with all levels of financial reporting. She became a board member of the Disability Sailing Association of BC (Able Sail Victoria) in 2023. She is a past board member/treasurer of the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (2015-2019). She enjoys sailing around the local gulf islands, cycling the Peninsula or hiking local parks.
Diana Franklin - Accounting Technician
Diana has completed her CPA education and has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting Major from Camosun College (2014). Diana assists our clients with various bookkeeping training in QBO, Quickbooks and Sage, as well as working on audits and year-ends. She also prepares complex tax returns. She enjoys spending time with her family.
Lindsay Scarborough - Accounting Technician/Tax Preparer
Lindsay has a solid tax knowledge in Estates, Trusts and personal tax returns. She prepares complex personal tax returns with complicated investments, as well as U.S. returns and corporate year-ends. Lindsay appreciates the delicate nature of Estates and is conscientious in the needs of the executors and beneficiaries.
Ester Bowers - Accounting Technician/Tax Preparer
Ester joined Paterson Henn CPA in January 2020 and is a current CPA student. She completed her Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting Major at Camosun College in August 2020 and has completed Module 6 of the CPA program. Ester works with our clients in bookkeeping using Quickbooks, QBO and Sage50. She also prepares tax returns and assists with audits and other engagements.
Kathy Anderson - Administrative Assistant
Kathy joined our team in January 2021 and has 6 years’ experience working in administration. She holds a Bookkeeping Certificate and is nearing completion of a certificate in Business Administration; she will be continuing her education with a focus on Accounting. She enjoys interacting with clients and looks forward to tax season each year.
Colleen Miscovitch - Administrative Assistant
Colleen recently completed a remote Bookkeeping Certificate at the University of the Fraser Valley. As the newest member of our team, she is looking forward to combining her experience in customer service, office administration, and small business workflow to assist our clients.
In addition to our regular staff, we have an important team of contractors, working with the partners and staff in assisting our clients.
Sandra Boyd, CPA, CGA, and Elaine McKerracher, CPA, CGA all assist us with a variety of engagements. They each bring their knowledge and expertise from their professional backgrounds and continue to be CPAs in good standing. They can be reached directly or through admin.
